Biking nearby the Hornad river
A part of the EuroVello 11 road has been built around Hornád, it skirts the river from the Hungarian border, through Košice and near Družstevna pri Hornáde, the biking road splits, and the so-called Hornad branch biking path road will continue around Hornád through Ružín to the Slovak Paradise. EuroVello is an international cycle route passing through 11 countries from the Norwegian Nordkapp to Athens, Greece. The total length of the cycle path is 6,550 km, and part of it passes right around the Hornád river.
Smaller local cycling routes will connect to this long-distance cycling network. However, several cycle routes are already marked and built in the Hornád valley.

The development of cycle paths is also supported by the Košice region, which has drawn up a strategy for the development of ecotourism, a strategy for the development of bicycle transport, according to which up to 853 km of cycle routes should be added in the Košice region, smart shelter for bikers in Margecany, near the Ružín dam, and is building regional bike rental offices called bikey.
A rest shelter and a charging station are also located in the village of Trstené near Hornád, not far from the bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the Hornad river.
